Zero Waste Manufacturing

Green manufacturing produces a green product

Through an innovative manufacturing process, CMS produces cellulose based products made primarily from post consumer and post industrial paper, with recycled newspaper being the main raw material. CMS's ECOCELL products are industry first cellulose based batts and blankets making them one of the greenest products in today's marketplace.

Made from recycled paperECOCELL batts and blankets are made from a combination of recycled and renewable fibers. The majority of these fibers are cellulose fibers produced by Nu-Wool Co., Inc., an affiliate company of CMS. Each day Nu-Wool Co., Inc. processes over 150 tons of recycled paper, which is the equivalent of 2,550 trees. Recycling all of this paper into cellulose insulation and fibers, helps keep it out of landfills, where it has the potential to pollute the environment.

The CMS manufacturing process is also GREEN. By minimizing energy use and air pollution during manufacturing, CMS is able help reduce greenhouse gas emissions that are common during production of other insulation materials.

CMS ECOCELL products are entirely recyclable. Any scrap production or material can be reused and remanufactured into new batts or blankets. Zero waste in production is an unique green characteristic of ECOCELL products that is uncommon with other building materials.

CMS continues to work toward developing additional ways to make its products and manufacturing process even more environmentally friendly, even though CMS products are already some of the greenest insulation materials available on the market.
